Click the image to see some Radio Controlled aerial footage, taken several years ago over Hastings, Victoria.
I am near the car, where the road bends and finishes at the paddock fence. (size=700kB)
I wanted an aerial shot of our block of land before we build on it...
Note: Image quality has been reduced.
This footage was shot by attaching (with heaps of Duct tape!) a Kodak DX6440 digital camera
to an Albatross electric powered glider.
Aerial Photos
Here are some still photos taken with the same camera, but with a servo operating the shutter. Dodgy, but effective!

the image, then back on, and click on the "expand" box in the bottom right corner.

Images around Hastings Victoria
The following two images have not been altered, but were taken with a slow shutter speed on a very calm night.

I finally got the lightning detection software to work on my Canon camera. This was taken from the safety of my laundry.

Kings Creek wind turbine repairs
The wind turbine had broken down for about a year and the Kings Creek owners were quoted a fortune to get it going again.
They knew I was interested in the turbine and asked me if I could get it going again.
Here's a video of the fault.
Obviously I like taking photos, so I took a few shots while we were up there.

Working at the top of the turbine with fellow electrician, James Kassay.
James is a champion rock climber, without him I was too chicken to climb the 26 metre tower.
It's a long way down. My girlfriend has come to check on us.
Here's a video of it running after repairing the fault. Boring I know, but I was pretty happy to see it running again.
The video shows it running in both low speed (30RPM) and switching to high speed (40RPM) as the wind picks up.
Our House.... (so far)
Our house that we "Owner built" in Hastings...I now know the true meaning of "Blood sweat and tears".
Our friends who have owner built their own houses told me that Owner Built homes are never finished.
I set out to prove them wrong...... five years (and counting) later, and it's still not finished.
Our house from the air.
